I was actually thinking about rearing them in a 5G, atleast my first batch.
After that, it'll prolly be survival of thye fittest.
How many fry are usually in each batch?
Not that many?

Be warned! I have had two breeding females one would have about 25 at a time, for the other...Doris...110 was not uncommon for her They have both passed on to the swirling cemetary but I have three of Doris' daughters looking ready to start their efforts to take over the world with fry

I'll be able to deal.
I have a 5G, and a extra 10G at the read, so I'll be able to keep my head above water, for alittle bit anyways.
If worst come to worst, would my cichlids enjoy the little baby treat?
Would the male? I had a friend who breed guppies, he had so many, his 10G was swormed. there wasent a place in his tank, that didn't have guppies in it! i dont think guppies will ever be endangered!

Not too many fish that do not like a snack of fry and Swordies are not just pigs at the dinner table they are very cannibalistic.

The female just died in my hospital tank.
Her head had a black marking, and behind her gills were slightly red.
I thought she was about to pul through. I'm going to buy 2 females next time, not just one.
