New Spawning Info I Need

If your goal is to eventually create a crowntail plakat... then k. But I'd still start with better stock to go with Synirr's fish.
Bingo! and all my males from synirr have died:
Rocket: Internal Infection
King: Jumped out of tank
Emerald: Jumped out of tank

Well, I still stand by what I think Synirr. The 2 fish you posted have equal amounts of red IMO, the one he posted does not (the anal fin is completely red, unlike the dorsal which has red only on the last section of rays, and the tail is not even at all (but I'm only going by what I can see. From a different angle, you're absolutely right, it might look completely different....so mine is a completely bias opinion, based soley on what *I* can see from a single, not so greatly angled, an improperly lighted picture).

And the fact remains, that it's simply and honestly, just *my* lowly opinion...it only matters to me (obviously), but I put it out there in case someone else might be thinking it indirectly, since general opinions *were* asked for.

My personal opinion is just one that doesn't see the logic in starting a new line out of fish that have redwash (keeping in mind, I think that based on the single, provided picture)...redwash of any sort has been proven hard to work back out of a line, so it just doesn't make sense to me to start a new line off that way (I'm a very logical thinker, so I just operate that way...I look at future problems, not the ones in the present).

I'm not saying "don't" do it..just saying it doesn't seem like a good option, and that *I* personally wouldn't do or suggest it.

YOU! I'd really apreciate it if you did not compent on anything I do any more! I'm a 13 year old boy, and your like what, 29?! None of you know what I am doing, and I will tell so you guys do not make all the comments I really hate right now!

*laughs a little* lol Exactly what does me being 29, and you being 13, have to do with anything? Does that mean I shouldn't respond to your posts because I'm older then you? lol Are only 13 and under supposed to respond,or is there an age limit on responders now? lol  Sorry, just found that part slightly humorous.

You ask for general opinion, yet when you don't get the one(s) you want(ed) you get mad. That is what asking opinions is suposed to be about...you ask for them to get a variety of options to take into consideration. The purpose is not to only get verification of your initial idea.

None of us know what you are doing? hmm Well, people can only give responses based on what information has been given. So, technically you shouldn't get angry over someone's response, when that response was based soley on the limited information you provided.

And I also suggest, that you don't ask for advice of certain natures in open forum, when you know up front that you will be getting responses you know will irritate you. That is the logic/beauty behind asking questions..or it's suposed to be anyways.

But anyways, I looked at your post history and ....based from what I saw, you are a dabbler. You've been asking question from the top of this forum (not betta only mind you) to the bottom on breeding all sorts of fish...so...no more *opinions* or replies from me (unless you bad mouth me and then of course I might (or might not, depending on what mood I'm in lol) say something in retort.

Carry on...and, well...best of luck with...that.

Well, looking at it from another way, even if the fish does have redwash (and I still maintain that it doesn't,) he would be breeding it to a fish that is primarily red... meaning that the offspring would be primarily red. Redwash isn't something you've really got to worry about on red fish :p

I just think that there's no reason to be so negative about it. The pairing isn't that horrible, and for someone of oppositearmor's age and means I don't think it's bad to start out like this. He may decide after one spawn that he doesn't want to do any more, and this way he can test the waters without having to spend an arm and a leg to get a nice fish shipped from a breeder.

I would recommend, though, oppositearmor, that if you do breed the CT to the plakat you keep the spawn small by removing eggs. The resulting F1 fish are probably going to be undesireable and it may be difficult to find them homes, so unless you're comfortable with having a LFS take them (and have a LFS that would do so), that would be the best way to go. I'm going to be doing this with my F1 CT x plakat spawn once my new copper male arrives.

Well, after I do get that plakat, I'm gonna breed it to cream too. Then they won't be red wash.

Ok, I got it all set out now. I'm going to buy a quality pair of Plakats from aquabid (and skip my allowance for this month) then, I shall breed Smokey to Cream and they will have alot of red. Now, I am hoping to get a yellow male and a orange female. Then I will keep on breeding, so I can get Combtail Plakats.

Haha, yeah... breeding traps don't work too well with betta fry, solidshark55. They're so tiny they can fit through the holes in the mesh ones, and they need about 80% water changes every day anyway.

That tiny, huh?! WOW. I've never bred before and have no intention on doing so (well, as of right now) for quite some time. I can only imagine how small they are from pictures but I never imagined them to be that small! :hyper:

Yes, they are really tiny. But the other amazing thing, when you see 150-200 of them, you wonder how they fit inside little mommy.

On Melano... I was told you have to breed black and steel blue to get melano.

Ok, I think I have the male and female (definately the female) picked out.
