Im wanting to set up a cherry shrimp tank. Ive decided on an Aquael Shrimp 30, but im unsure of the best substrate to use. i want some live plants/ mosses so would like some guidence on plants and substrates to go with?

I've just recently set up my shrimp tank, last november, and I'm just getting ready to add my shrimp this week (should be here wed) I have just regular fish tank gravel in my tank, as I already had some I could use, but I have tons of java moss growing in for them to hide and forage in as well as some guppy grass, a coconut cave and a small piece of drift wood. I'm super excited for them!

make sure you have proper lighting and what kind of plants you want and that'll be fine.
for a nice low tech tank i would recommend you looking into a dirt substrate with fine black gravel as a cap. makes the red pop nicely.
if you want more help with dirt substrate, i have 3 successful tanks that are with it, just quote me if you are interested or pm me :p if not that's ok too

I wouldn't mind trying that at some point myself! I also use two sponge filters and the tank has led lights with the moon light option
