I should have some new shrimp arriving today

Llitle Aussie natives called False Zebra Shrimp, Caridina confusa and I can't wait to see them in the flesh

. They only stay a small shrimp around 4cm and can vary quite a lot in their colour and markings. Once they arrive I will take some pictures and post them here. Later down the track I plan to also get some North Queensland Zebra Shrimp Caridina zebra which are closely related to the false zebra shrimp but are found in different sections of the same river systems. So keeping my fingers crossed that the shrimp arrive alive and well today!.

Sounds interesting, watching with interest

Well my much awaited shrimp arrived but sadly all dead

, a real shame as they looked really pretty. There was quite a few berried females and because the shrimp had not turned pink/ red I rescued the eggs and have put them in a jar of water with an airstone in the desperate hope that the eggs will still be viable.
Keeping my fingers crossed that some eggs survive and I get some shrimplets, but I wont be holding my breathe.
