after a fiasco that lasted a couple days, Thor finally has a buddy to share the tank with. i was checking out one of my lfs when i saw a perfect sized catfish for my tank. it was about 10" long but i couldn't quite figure out what kind of catfish it was. i thought it looked similar to a colombian shark, but they told me it was a "hong kong shark". i had never heard of a hong kong shark, and after doing research i still haven't found out anything about a hong kong shark. so after taking it home...haha...i put it in my tank and saw how stressed out it was. it wasn't being bullied by thor but it was swimming up and down frantically along the side on the tank and gasping at the bottom when it got tired. at first i thought it was just new home blues but after two days of the same behaviour i made the decision that it was in fact a colombian shark and needed brackish water. so i returned it to the lfs today, explained to them that i was sold a fish for a freshwater tank that needed to be in a brackish/marine tank. after a lot of bargaining they let me trade it for the severum i had my eye on. i am so excited. it is really good looking. it is dark blue with hints of green and well-defined stripes. its nice because he's slightly bigger than thor and way mellow. i'll get some pictures up when i can. thanks for reading my book.
