hey all, its been a while since ive posted a look at my fish message, and I'm currently bored and in work,

I went out on Friday to BAS in Bolton, and I picked up some new fish, a lovely 3" D. microlepis and a 3" Channa belheri.

The snakehead has taken a bit of a beating from the baby oscars, but i think the pecking order has been established now and things are calming down.

the Dat has fully settled in, he is still very washed out (white instead of yellow) but the stressed blackness has faded and his stripes are very prominent.

I'll try and get some good pics tonight when I get home from work. I was hoping to get a load of the D. Microlepis, and even a few D. undecimradiatus but unfortunately they only had one Microlepis left.

I'm going to hopefully get some more soon as I have asked for some to be reserved next time they have them in.

So watch this space anyone near by who wants one i may be selling some, once ive grown them on a bit.

I think its going to take a while to get decent pics, as I'm going to have to clean the tanks glass, its got water marks down it  from when i set it up months and months ago, yes I am lazy at time :D

I think I'm more lazy coz only I really look at that tank, as its up stairs, where as the 120 is in full view of anyone who comes to the house lol and I ensure the glass is cleaned every week... damn niece and her fingers!!

he was pretty much the same as he is now, as the tank didnt have decent cover for him, apart from a little drain pipe.

I'm wondering if this specimen is going to stay more white, as I know they can range from a creamy white to a dark tan or yellow colour. What is your experience with juveniles?

i have 9 x 3-4" micolepis and they hard to get looking good and acting confident
if you give them cover and hiding places you will hardly ever see them
if you have bare tank they just lay on their sides in the cornors of the tank or wedged behind pipes or filters
i know other people have had more luck with them, its best to buy tigers that are already stable and colourful

mine is really active, and gives the baby oscars a run for their money, he just seems a little pale.

(and just a note you have the wrong spelling for microlepis in your sig, I only noticed as i keep calling them micropelis, )

hopefully it wont be too shy when older as I'm looking at putting it in with the flagtail prochilodus and oscars, although between now and then i need to sell some of my other fish to make room for him.

IE get rid of the bala shark and maybe the synodontis ocefillier. and move the smaller cichlids to the 30gallon with the senegalus' and snakeheads

I'm going to lie and say £35... but I got it at trade through a friend... so was only £23 inc vat, but shhhh!!! :good:

Come on, times a wasting, get that cleaning cloth out and the camera!!

Nice Dat, Nasty Oscar and where is the Channa :/

He/she looks ok to me, from what ive seen they colour up more when theyre older.
Im trying to decide weather or not to get one for my 65g. Not for its whole life, but to grow it on to kinda 8" or so, any ideas?
BAS tend to get tigers in frequently, but they never seem to have any SA cichlids, or atleast nothing too special.
