I'll second CFC, we used to breed Oscars back in the day and they are the biggest drama queens you've ever seen I did 50% w/c's on my adults weekly and they would lay at the bottom and heave the whole time like they were slowly dying and as soon as I poured the last drop in all went back to normal

I think that makes sense, this morning I woke up to find him swimming around the glass nearest to me..awww!!

After college I'll try and switch some media around a bit.

But I also have everything to get my 850 litre tank running now so i might get busy on that, will probabe take a while to fill up!!. the connecting hose came thorugh this morning.

Just to remind myself i should get high nitrites then high ammonia then it all goes down to zero for a cycle right?

I think it should be high Ammonia, then high Nitrites while Ammonia goes down to zero and then high Nitrates while Nitrite goes to zero so final readings will be

Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 15 etc etc

Ah ha!!

Well I'ved put all the bio media in from my Fluval 204 this afternoon, plenty of crap on them!!

There has been other bio media in that filter for 2-3 weeks now and the sponges so thats tanks not in danger!!

few days later and my water is testing perfect so the oscars getting fed up well to grow nice and big

i'm going to bring home my fire eel aswell over the weekend.
