Hi guys im new and looking for advice - I have an 54 litre jewel korall -
1 Common Pleco
1 Gibbicep Pleco
1 Female Siaese Fighter
2 Serpae Tetra
4 Denison Barbs
1 Cory Bronze
2 Dalmation Molly
1 Black Molly

What else can I add?
Something like a catfish and a cichlid

I'm afraid you can't add anymore fish to your tank; you're already badly overstocked.

Many of the fish you have are not suitable for a 54l tank; you're going to have to do something to remedy this ASAP; either by re-homing the fish, or getting a much, much larger tank.

The common plec and the gibby can both grow to one or two feet long, so they have to be moved; even if they're only small now, they need room to grow.

The denison barbs get to at least six inches.

Serpae tetras will nip your other fish as they need to be kept in shoals of at least six, but preferably 10 or 12, as does the bronze cory.

Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news...

How long have you had the tank set up, was it cycled and do you have any test results on your water?

1 Month and yes it was cycled with mature media, no test results recently

I agree with Fluttermouth; you're badly overstocked and some of the fish you have need room to grow, otherwise they can go through a process called stunting (where the fish's insides continue to grow but their body doesn't) and it's very painful for the fish. To keep all of those fish you'd probably need at least a 70 gal tank and even that might not be large enough. I'd also try to do some water tests because with that much fish in such a small tank I'd be surprised if there weren't any toxins in the water.

NO. You have to rehome both Plecos as both plecos are much too large for your tank. Even with JUST the Gibbicep pleco you're overstocked.

Even if you took away the two Plecos you are still overstocked. The Denison Barbs also will grow to about 5" and should be rehomed ASAP.

You should remove the two Plecos and the Barbs. Then you may be able to add 3 more Corys to make a group of 4 (Corys prefer groups) and add 3 more Tetras to make a group of at least 5 which they prefer as well. You'd be 100% stocked then. I'd watch the fish, particularly the Betta, for aggression as they mature though. What filter do you have on the tank? I'd also suggest at least a 50% water change per week.

IMO none of these fish are suitible for this tank except the fighter and maybe the cory if you get a couple more of the corys

NO

As stated twice now, the Gibicep will get to be 1-2ft long. The denisons barbs will get to be 6 inches. And the upside down cat will be 6+inches, not to mention they prefer groups. I don't know much about rams, but I believe they need more room as well.

Give to family member in 7 gallon tank for the molly, the fighter im not sure yet.

i think you should just take it back to the store, because a molly can get 4 to 5 inches long and is not suitable for a 7 gallon tank
