Up to last weekend I had 1m 2f dwarf gouramis in my tank (95 litres, no other stock)

The male sort of courted the females, but his bubble nest was a half-hearted thing, always dissipating.

I added another trio (1m 2f), and now the nest is a full inch above the water, and the older females are plumping up.

... And the best thing is, I can't see any particular signs of aggression.

Let's see if at last I can get them to breed...

Cool. I'm looking forward to updates......... :good:

<grumble>

After the initial impetus, the older male (called "Oi! You!") has con back to half-heartedly tending to his bubble nest. It dissipates, the he makes a poor excuse of a bubble nest, that dissipates, and so on. He does defend the circle of floating plants where the nest is from the younger male (called "Innit"), but that's about it. At least there is no serious aggression.

All the females (Blue, Red, Platinette and Scarlet) seem to be quite happy, but blue has definitely swollen up with eggs, and then reabsorbed them.

This weekend I'm getting my RO unit back, so I will do a big water change. And a couple of days later start to lower the level and rise the temperature, slowly.
Let's see if this kick-starts spawning...
