New Macro Lens, Some Pics From The Shrimp Tank

I've since been told that shrimp like to eat Salvinia anyway, so I'm looking out for another more interesting floating plant.

Have you seen the Phyllanthus Fluitans on eBay? It looks very nice.

Thanks all :).

I've seen it on greenline, but not ebay, does look quite nice. If I order more floating plants I think I'll get a few different types for my other tanks too, so it is likely to be one of them.

Another shrimp pic, still haven't got my flash back yet, but this little guy posed for me.

That is a super pic of the little cherry, it has great detail, I like the size comparison shot too.
:good:

Thanks :).

Got my flash back (my friend got a fantastic cannon one), been playing with it.

It makes it very easy to take detailed shots, but I'm not too sure how much I like it's affect on colour compared to not using the flash.

Considering it's a cheap (£7 :fun: ) flash off ebay, I think I'll eventually upgrade it to a decent flash that's more suited to my camera (thinking Metz 36 AF-4) , and get a proper diffuser, and maybe a lens filter or two .

Still loads more to play with and adjust before I can afford that though.
I'm sure simple things like cleaning algae off the glass first would help .

Excellent pics with lovely detail,
:good:

I up the f number and or diffuse the flash to not overexpose the pic. The light on the first pic is about right and a bit too much on the second I think.

im so jealous the pic quality is awesome i need to get myself a good cam im only using my iPhone at the min lol nice shrimp btw im gonna pick some up in 4week

Thanks guys :).

Yeah, using paper over this flash doesnt work too well, I'll either DIY something out of plastic or get a cheap universal diffuser off ebay for now. I'll get a proper one in the future when I get a decent flash (could be a while).

I wasnt using my macro lens for those two, was trying out extension tubes on a different lens, I don't think it's nearly as good, I actually had it set to f22 .
