Which New Life Spectrum do i need to buy to feed my fishies? A very greedy Green Severum and an even greedier Oscar...

david they all contain quite high amounts of garlic so dont be tempted to purchase the extra garlic as its not needed mate. im sure on the website it states the extra garlic is for feeding ill fish. dont quote me on that but im sure i read it somewhere..

as said above just go for whatever they can fit in their mouth. i currently use cichlasoma pellets for the ornatums and i use to feed Keith their mega pellets. i find the cichlasoma pellets quite small and everything can eat them which is annoying but thats life.

im not 100% convinced that its worth the extra money though as it is quite expensive compared to hikari gold etc but the fish love it so it cant be bad...

if you are to get some maybe go for the jumbo pellets as they are only 4.5mm if too big then there is a large fish pellet at 3mm.

Cheers mate. Only considering it as i have heard alot of people mention how good it is. Maybe i will stick with Hikari then. Any other Hikari worth a go?

I have plenty of Prima left, like loads, but wanted something especially for the Oscar as his mouth is humongous!!

i use tetra doramin or XL as its called now, hikari gold, hikari gold sinking and nls cichlasoma and alternate them so the fish dont get use to a certain food. i also feed prima daily too for the tetras etc and the cichlids eat this too....

i use the nls cichlasoma more than the others so you could say this was the staple out of the lot.

i find that the nls products dont mess the water as much as the others especially the doromin.

hikari do a massivore pellet but they are quite large and do sink so depending on what size mouths they have and if they eat from the substrate or not. i feed this to my catfish and am trying to get the rays on it with little success at the minute

try feeding floating and sinking food to avoid too mmuch competition at the surface

Yeah the Sev goes for the Prima which sinks and the Oscar just munches on the floaters... Unless it's Prawns then he just goes bazurk and wedges 3 in sideways at once...

I went with NLS to see what all the fuss was about, we even have a unnamed membe who will bleed NLS if you cut him

The only difference was to my wallet, my last apsito fry are the same colour size and health as the ones feed with Hikari/prima

Hikari cichlid gold. I seriously couldn't find anything better to feed my sevs and my oscar, when I had him.
