Tonight I went ahead, cut a great big hole in my pond then slapped a piece of acrylic over the top of it!

The process and results....

I'll fill it up in the next few days, most likely in the garden first......just incase!!

Thats pretty cool!

Is the pond going to be raised of the ground a bit then?

Yep and it is, in the first pic you can just about see that it's off the ground, raised on 2 stacks of 6 concrete blocks. The tank to the left is raised 3 ft ish so you can get the idea of the height.

Thanks!

Oh yeah i see now, my bad.

Can you keep a particular species of ray for its whole life in a pond that size, or can it only be used for growing out? I think i read somewhere else you were just planning to use it as a grow out tank, what species?

You could probable fit a couple of scobinas in the pond for life. I'll be putting flower rays in there for starters.

It works!!

Will empty it again later tonight to make a start on pipe work.

wow paul nice job :good: glad that you could pull it off with no problems. It looks like youve done the best job possible, with it overlapping with the edges bolted aswell, should protect the sealant from getting peeled away by the play in the sides very well. Well Done :hyper:

where did u say you were keeping that may have already said but i must have missed it inside or out?

Been working hard for the last few nights....

It's now runnning, excuse the scum, I had only just chucked the sand in when I took the pics..
