I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find info on a New GUinea Red Rainbow. I have searched a little on the internet and am not finding anything very good.

I have a 55 gallong tank with a pictus, angel, and 2 gouramies along with a bunch of smaller fish.

Thanks for the info

I saw some at my lfs and asked about them. The guy told me I couldn't have them because they get too big for my tank size :X . Then he showed me some nice big ones. They only get 5-6 inches but they look massive.

Here are some links. A more common name is Red Irian Rainbowfish (Glossolepis incisis). Maybe that will help you get better info.

Edit: Some of these sites say 3 inches max, some say 6 inches :dunno: . I've seen some 4 inch ones, maybe there is a dwarf variety also?

Thank you, that has some good info. I think I saw one of those pages last night when I was searching, but it used a different name so I wasn't sure if it was the right fish.

My LFS carries them on a fairly regular basis, they call them salmon red rainbows, so you may want to search under that name also. A great community fish, I would highly recommend it, great color and doesn't bother anything(other than being curious).
