New Gouramis

i just bought 8 gouramis (4 powder blue and 4 flame/red gouramis). after i put them in my aquarium i noticed all the powder blues were males and all the reds were females. is it possible for them to breed and will the males become aggressive towards the others?

Sounds like you will have a very aggressive tank soon. 4 Males is way too many. 2 would probably end up fighting let alone 4.

Ideally the number of gourami needs to go down from 8 -> 1. If the one remaining Gourami is very aggressive, then keep him alone, if not, you could stick a female into the tank. How big is the tank if you don't mind me asking?
