Perfect name for him and yes he does eat like a horse, ate the first day i got him

Good luck and i believe you got a good catch at the local fish shop. I brought 6 females and 3 turned out to be male... so that was a shame. One of my current females looks like the first pic... But I would say its a lovely male you have there

You should name one solar or eclipse i like those kinds of names, one of my bettas is named nippy cause like when i got these cat fish he nipped one of them and the others name is solstace

Looks a little like my Sen. Found him at a lfs in a tank of females. I didn't argue with them - unless shops are very knowledgable about bettas they tend to just go with what their supplier says.

If all these short finned males are getting mixed with females by lfs suppliers it makes me wonder if the "VT" females they sell are actually PK females. Never been good with the VT/PK distinction with female bettas.

Where I used to work used to get "CT" males in from time to time that they sold for £15. Every one looked like a battered VT - all of them had awful ray-branching and none of them had proper spikes. I brought it up with the manager but he just said "we get them in as CT, we sell them as CT", even when I showed him one whose spikes were fusing together! Looked just like a VT that was mending after being torn up.

i have a good eye for spotting pks in with females, not been wrong yet.

Trojan has settled in very well to the 60l, now i am debating on whether to leave him there ansd try a community or put him straight in the 6 gal

If he's a calm fish, you could try him with a community, start off with possible bottom feeders and see if he takes to them?

Worth ago i think, would love him to have the run of the 15Gal but if it does fail atleast i have the 6 gal setup and waiting

Awww he looks exactly like my Djin did when i first got him he's a big boy now hehe i bet trojans colours will be exactly like his, it's the most common PK colouring i find Djin was origionally bought as nessie but still £1.25 bargin could i ask what shop you found him at?

hehe. when i first saw my Weiss, i could have sworn i was looking at a platinum female. he had the belly bulge and everything. XD after bringing him home, and asking around, he turned out to be a lovely HMPK. got a deal, though, cause he was sold to me as a "Platinum Halfmoon" for $10. after looking around, i found an identical one for $15 online. XD
