New Fries

Hi, just a day or 2 ago, my Koi Swordtail had fries (we just bought them from a store too...long story, ahaha), anyways, i bought hikari firs bit yesterday, and begin feeding them. But then there is a question i need to ask, and that is how much food do i need to feed my fries, and how many times a day? I have around 20-23 fry and not sure if i am overfeeding them... Thank You. Oh yea, and some of my fries are staying at the bottom of the tank(or whatever you call that breeder net) and then wont come out. are they too weak? Thank you.

it sometimes takes a few hours before fry build up the strength to swim which could be why you have some on the bottom, or they could just be the weaker ones of the group. most people feed twice a day some three times i only feed once a day and haven't had problems in 10 years with that, just feed small amounts to start with then gradually increase the amount as they grow, you will need to clean the box/net when ever it needs cleaning

with it being your first lot then don't be too upset if they die off, the weaker ones will gradually die but i remember from my first lot i had 100 fry and only one survive. when you feel they are bigger than the mouth of your biggest fish you can release them back into the tank, then you'll need to decide whether to keep/give away/or sell, but you have plenty of time till then any questions or unsure of anything feel free to PM me or post here

Oh i also have a question, just incase it ever happens, if my fries get sick, should i treat the amount of medication recommanded on the bottle, or should i only use half of it? thanks again.

i only ever use half but thats due to the other fish i keep, some can't tolerate meds as well as others, it usually tells you on the bottle/instructions.
