Speaking on a general basis, I wonder why people can't be nicer to a perfectly great 12-year-girl who's doing her best for her fish...
People should matter as much as fish, and it would be wonderful if comments reflected this, particularly in cases where the person is trying to make a happy life for her pets.

Or maybe people need to stop being so uptight, and lighten up. Posts can be inturpretted in many ways, because there are no facial expressions involved it may seem someone is being nasty but they are not.

So mind your own business, and hopefully you can interpret that.

Exactly. Why I said ' Speaking on a general basis' rather than specifying any particular person - and I wasn't intending to hurt your feelings either.
I'm certainly very sorry if I did so.

Unfortunately, as doubly proven just now, things can come off in a manner, whether intended that way or not, which can make people feel bad.
And especially where perfectly nice young ladies are involved, it would certainly be nice if a little care was perhaps taken to avoid any such possible misunderstandings which might affect the young.
I was hoping that people might consider the way in which their comments - or the lack of them - might be taken.

I'm sorry I didn't manage to phrase that better and I'm afraid I've aggravated the situation instead.
However, as she's now fully stocked and broke, there's little point in further reference.

6 cories. And thanks you are the only one (except for about 1 - 2others) That have given me nice comments. AOS has only ever given me bad comments so i deciding to mute.

Hi, Ace Of Spades.

Would monitoring prevent spam and other unpleasantness from affecting people under 14?
It's unfortunate it can't be prevented, but the site does its best.
And one hardly expects such things on on a site devoted in this area to family fishkeeping, where children as well as adults are to be encouraged to learn about their aquatic pets and the care provided.
I don't intend this in a negative way, but is there perhaps a more positive form in which to phrase comments directed at the young?
People of that age are often very shy, insecure and easily hurt, and various experiences and the responses of others may affect their self-image and outlook throughout their adult life.
It doesn't hurt us to bear this in mind in our dealings with them.

And I did, All I asked was she would please get more then 2 as they enjoy their own company, and you two snapped. It is you that I think needs to look at what your are typing.

That was my reply to when you guys snapped at me numb nuts, so im not allowed to defend myself? GO figure. I positivly commented about your fish and then just advised you about the corys. That is all. .
