Hi Ive just got 2 new fish and they dont seem very hungry even though i havnt fed them much. Is this normal?

How are these fish acting? Are they stressed? are they in a new tank of a fully cycled one?

Well i got 2 albino corydoras cat fish, they seem quite active sometimes an sometimes they just sit at the bottom of the tank.it is a new tank aswel. they are eating, they just dont seem to interested an have eaten very little, i got them yesterday, so i was just wondering if it was normal for them to eat a little considering their just settleing in?

Well im just a beginer so i only got 2 as my tank is about 30 litres an Ive read that you should only get a couple at first as my tank is uncycled. And the guy in the pet store advised that too.

have a look in the beginners section at fishless cycling lots of good topics there :) maybe you should consider returning them back to the store until your tank is cycled :good:

Welcome to the forum Gem Blair. You have an uncycled tank and are about to start a fish-in cycle. What that means is that you will be testing at least daily for ammonia and if you find any you will do large water changes to get it well below 0.25 ppm. When you add water back into the tank, you will be treating it with a dechlorinator first. One of the commonly used ones is called Prime. The water being added back in should match the water in the tank as closely on temperature as you can judge by using your hand. When you start to get your ammonia under control, the nitrites in the tank will try to get away from you. Daily testing of nitrites will allow you to judge how much water to change daily to keep the nitrites under 0.25 ppm. When both the ammonia and nitrites are under control without massive water changes, you can think about getting your third fish. Until that time it's no more fish for that tank.
If your fish are not eating everything you give them right away, cut the amount you feed the next day in half and each day cut that amount in half until you can are matching how much they will actually eat. Excessive food and feeding has killed more fish in fish tanks than most other causes combined including diseases and parasites.
