fading in colour with plecs usually means stress. Like everyone has said a 30 litre tank (about a 5 gallon tank) is NO WHERE near enough room for a common plec or any plec that i know of.

yep now that he has started to stress, he will need that big tank. invest wisely

The largest plec I have seen is almost 4ft. long and 12" at the head. It is located in an indoor pond at very exquisate Marine store, Sandy UT. USA. They have several large exhibits in 1000gln plus tanks at this shop.
My wife wants an indoor pond in the basement with a waterfall.......lol....ouch. All I need to do is dig up the foundation and install an emergany sump well and tank under the house. Might as well go deeper and just build an aquarium in the basement for our guest. OUCH........more then I can afford for now.....lol........
