Gettin some new fish tomorrow but bit stuck on what to get some ideas people??

think we'll need quite a bit more info to help....

tank size
current stock
anything you already like the look of???

What size is your tank, what fish are in it already, and is your water hard or soft?

It all depends on your tank really. What size it is and what you like. I am a fan of Black Phantom Tetra's and Harlequin Rasboras.

380 liter,
2 swardfish male female
4 tetras
2 clown loche
1 red fun shark
1 German ram
2 bristle noes
An 2 other crnt remover name

I think, from your other threads, that the 'tetras' are some sort of rasbora. You could really do with increasing their numbers. Same for the clown loach, really, but your tanks a bit small for them. Have you thought about trying to rehome them?

Can you get a pic of the fish that you don't know the name of?

And I don't want to rehome them at the min because they are only like 2" and ino someone with. Bigger tank than mine

Ok....

Those two fish are kribensis. I'd think about upping your numbers of clown loach (if you're sure you have someone to take them on later, although they should really have a sand substrate rather than gravel) and rasboras.

If you want something different, I'd go for another shoal. Avoid any other bottom dwellers and anything that has a lot of red on it.

I wanted to switch to sand but I don't want all the hassle at the minute Donal jut puttin that on hold for now

Kirbensis does it look my are ready to breed?

Ashley we had a conversation about the two you don't know the names of being kribs only a couple of hours ago! And the tetras are indeed lambchop rasboras.

And as I put above it you look I forgot what they was called
And all you said was its belly was allways pink what help is that

That wasn't me actually.

I said they were kribensis that can be aggressive and territorial when breeding and are not a good mix with rams.

Looking at your content you seem to have a lot of similar threads on the go so I can't find the one where someone told you they are always pink.

There are some conflicts in your current tank stocking that need to be addressed...

  • You have fish that need a strong current of 8-12x true water turnover per hour (Clown Loaches; BN Catfish; Swordtails; Red Tail Black Shark) and fish that prefer calm conditions of 4-6x true water turnover (Lambchop Rasboras; German Ram; Kribs)
  • The Clown Loaches need a group of at least 8+ for their complex hierachy and a 6-foot tank minimum, they grow to ~30cm (google "Marge the Clown Loach"). "VickiandKev" on here had 30+ in a 8x4 footprint tank.
  • I suspect at some point if not already, your shark will see the Clown Loaches as enemies, having a similar shape. The loaches will lose, every time.
  • Mixing different continent cichlids in a tank is risky, they will have conflicting "body language." I'd expect Kribs to beat a German Ram every time.
  • Lambchop Rasboras are peaceful, highly social fish. If you are going to stick to a calm water setup, your first priority after rehoming the rheophiles is to up the numbers of this group, no reason you could not have ~20 in your tank.
  • A male/female pair of Swordtails is a bit risky, its usually better to have three or four females per male to spread his "advances." Your female might get some respite if your tank has plenty of high water line-of sight barriers.

Nobody told me I needed more than 2 thats why I only got that amount, and yes iv seen already sometimes when my clown loach are hangin round the red fin shark he chases them of, only ever now and again

Just thought I'd add, I'd listen to N0body of the goat there - they've given some very good advice!
