HI everyone im new to the forum and im after a little help.
I just got a new fish tank it holds 35L's.I am looking for a small community of fish for it i would be grateful for ideas, i want some colorful fish i was looking at guppies and Minnows. Also how many could i keep? I do also have a colour water tank for all my orandas and lion heads.
i would be grateful for any help

A 35l is pretty small for a "community", per se.

If, by "Minnows", you mean white cloud mountain minnows, then they're a no-no - they may be small, but they like to zoom around, and need a lot of room.

You could have a group of 5 male guppies, thjat would look nice, especially if they were all the same colouration. But if you want to go a little more community-like, then I'd suggest a pair of Peacock Gobies, with 6 of either Celestial Pearl Danios, or Chilli Rasboras, or Dwarf Emerald Rasboras, or Endlers

Ok, so the tank is small small lol. Right what about a male siamese fighter and a female? they look lovely. Hmm i will have a look online, im just after a nice looking tank, something with color, don't want anything to bland.

You can't keep fighters together unless you have lots of females, but males need to be on their own or they'll kill any others they're put with. You could get a male betta and some small fish like endlers, rasboras or pygmy cories.

As above, only put a male fighter in with a female if you're wanting to breed them.

Then separate them again straight after.

HI

I have desided i'm going with a guppy tank, and have a different coloured ones :good:

thanks amanda
