I'm not sure if to get some new fish, my tanks looking a bit empty as i had my 2 rainbows die on me a while ago. I do have a few fish in my tank at the moment:

5 marble hatchets
1 Black ghost knife
3 cloawm loaches
2 angels
1 rainbow shark
1 ram
2 sinos
Edit: 1 opaline gourami
couple of other fish currently lodging due to a collapsed tank.

My tank is a Rena approx 300l with a rena filstar xp2.

If i do get some i would'nt mind some middle dwellers, maybe a bit colourful and a bit lively.

Not sure what to do?

If it was you would you get some and if so what would you get??? (I like the look of the green tiger barb)

What species of syno are they? You have to be careful with a black ghost as their mouth is huge and they are predatory I am not sure your tiger barbs would be safe.

They are Synodontis eupterus. They don't ever seem aggressive towards the other fish. The barbs thing was an idea, i also like the look of firemouth cichlids but i think they would be a probelm with the ram. I like the colours on them.

Oh what to do lol!!!

IMO Synodontis eupterus turn from lovely little beautiful bundles of joy into huge ugly plain monsters.

I suppose they do look a little dragon like lol, but when they have their fins out the look beautiful. They came with my tank when i bought it. They always seem active and are exploring every little inch of the tank. Thats what i like about them. Why do you say they turn into plain monsters???????

How big are yours at the mo? Do they still have the really pretty leopard spot pattern? When I last had some they turned into dull grey 9 inch plus deep bodied small fish eating evil SOBs.

I'd say they are about 7-8 inches. They still have the leopard spots on them. I've never really seen them go for other smaller fish, never really seen any aggression in them at all.

Mine lost the leopard spots at about 6 inches and became dull grey with black spots, then at about 7.5 inches just became dull grey with darker grey spots. At about 6 inches they got really territorial and aggresive, maybe I just got mean ones! So I traded them into my LFS.

my sons tank has a eupterus in which i bought as an upside down. if i'd known it was a eupterus i wouldn't have bought as I had a really aggressive 8 inch one yrs back which just pestered everything.

black ghosts are ace. My sons community tank has one in. i'll move it to my bigger tank soon when I can sneak it out as its his favourite
