PetSmart just got in some German Blue Rams & Bolivian Rams for only $6.99 each!!! That's right folks, only $7 a fish and the Bolivians were fairly large too. I may have to add another tank soon.................. :shifty:

Here in Central North Carolina they Rams are only available in 3 different stores: Aquarium Outfitters is the most expensive at $17 each or $30 for a pair. Their's are the largest and most colorful, but they're only warranteed for 7 days and these fish are notoriously fragile. Pet Supermarket has both GBR & BR for $10 each and again, only warrateed for 7 days. PetSmart's warranty is 15 days and at only $7 each I could afford to add 6 or 8 and let them pair off.

Check your local PetSmart and see if they have them yet..............

They also have Roseline Sharks & Julii Corys, which are probably really False Juliis aka Threelined Corys. I didn't see any of the Corys & the salsperson said they sold out immediately or I'd know for sure.

and they have most tetras for dollar

Also true! PetCo does have a better warranty though at 30 days but they don't have the Ram Cichlids or the Roseline Sharks, they do have the Julli (False) Corys.................

$5.50 in the good old GA! :p

I hate you too! I didn';t realize I was in some sort of premium priced market.

No better time for you to grab up 2 Bolivian Rams like you wanted.............

Yeah I guess haha

Yep as soon as I get back from spring break I'm going to buy 6 and wait till they pair :) :good:

Now how do I talk my wife into another tank? What's the smallest, best size tank for 6 to 8 Rams, maybe a mix of German Blue & Bolivians?

I'm currently testing parameters for all 3 tanks since it's raining outside anyway. Perfect day for some big water changes & some rescaping............... :good:

20 gallons for a community pair of Germans and 30 gallons for a pair of bolivians and probably 55 for 3 pairs, but Germans need higher temps and slightly different params then bolivians :(

Okay, I guess 3 pair isn't going top happen. I'd like to get a 40 gallon breeder and add 2 pair of the German Blues...........what if any other Dwarf Cichlids would go with them? Apistos or Kribs would be great..............

Ye I went yesterday too I was so suprised. I literally went on my phone to see if those were actually GBRs and Jullis lol. They had the Bolivian rams at mine though for a while though. i'm excited

BTW

The Blue Rams (GBRs) are $6.49 here in Illinois. Still beats the private fish store prices :D
