New Firemouth Cichlid!

Went to my LFS and found this little guy/girl. Couldn't pass it up! Plan to put this one in the 75gal when I get it going!

They are such nice fish I have 2 as population control in my 100 gallon live bearers tank.

Population control? As in keeping the fry in check or the live bearers? Wouldn't that make the Firemouth more aggressive? I am intrigued. Which is partially why I am raising a shrimp tank to potentially use as live food. Although, I haven't really got into doing that just yet. It would be really cool to watch! I feel like it would be having the Discovery channel right in my own house! It can get expensive if I exclusively feed them shrimp. Of course I wouldn't do that anyhow. I like putting variety in their diet.

No, They are fine with the adult live bearers, They just eat any fry they find,  I have them on " Loan " from LFS In a few weeks I will take them back and get 2 small ones again. Its win win I get population control and LFS gets 2 nice firemouths.
