New Filter Type.

So since my cory tanks filter had died, i had bought a new 40Gal filter. One in which i dont know how to use excatly. So if you can help me find out how to use it(it has 3 different attachements). I dont have the filter itself yet, but i do have the pictures of the filter i had bought.
 
I am assuming since its a internal it has a suction cup(s) to put it agaisnt the tank glass. But my question is, since the filter has 3 different attachements what would i use each for?

Also with the filter it uses a carbon mesh instead of the carbon cartridge(more helpful if needing to be cleaned out)

You didn't do any research prior to purchasing it? I advise you to do thorough research next time before purchasing aquarium equipment and attachments. Trust me, it'll help you in the long run. I bought a UV sterilizer HOB filter for like fifty bucks and I regretted it completely. The design and function of the filter is entirely different from your standard HOB filter. Instead of water passing through the fan leading up to the chamber, the fan sits at the bottom of the chamber and pulls water up a hose going over the entire filter. It's such a moronic design, it would constantly over flow, even if you were to remove the UV shield and cartridge, it still would over flow. I woke up to 2 gallons lost from my 15 gallon one morning. 
 
Anyways, the three compartments are most likely for the sponge to catch debris, ceramic media and carbon media. That's just my guess though, it should come with instructions, shouldn't it? And you don't need to clean the carbon mesh, just rinse it before putting it to use.

with the research from this it doesnt really tell me much. just that its a Internal filter with a 3 in 1 function feature. Perfect if you dont have a air stone or a current running within your tank. Note to the new owner of one of these filters is that to not use the outlet feature(dont know what that even means) unless you have the correct parts for it as it could break down within a few days if not used correctly(but thats with most things if you dont use it correctly it will break). Also with the 2 added spray and aeration mode, you will not need to use a air stone as this feature does both within the motor of the filter.

• Spray Mode:
• This is the most common application. The installation is very simple for this "plug-and-play" filter. Just attach the spray bar to the filter body, place the filter body under water then it will work.

• The black "T" shaped connector is the aeration connector (Venturi). You can use it to replace the spray bar. Connect the aeration tube to the branch and leave another end in air. Air will be pulled into the connector, mixed and discharged out with water to increase oxygen level.

outlet adapter simply lets you hook up a hose to the filter pump outlet.  So if you want to have a small fountain or water fall feature to your aquarium you can simply connect the hose to the pump and then run the hose to whatever you want
 
The Spray bare connects to  the pump outlet and lifts water to above the aquarium surface. The water then falls down to the aquarium water surface agitating it and pulling air into the aquarium.  This is my preference.
 
Aeration connector is like the outlet adapter except it also mixes air with the water before the water enters the pipe.

so does the aeration part put water into the tank as well as the spray bar?
