Finally some discus talk. Nice leapords. I want some! But why did you only get two!?

becasue im not really a discus person lol there for my other half i just maintain lol and the tank IMO isnt big enough 2 house more than 2 tbh and i got them free so always nice but could have had more free if i wanted lol :) is there any reason 2 have more? you say they are leopards im guessing thats not the same as red snakeskins then lol (still learning different colours lol)

Tank looks a bit small for Discus... what size is it?

Discus are a schooling (spelling?) fish and should be kept in groups. If you only have two then one of two things will happen, either they will be fairly miserable or one will be become dominant of the other. If that happens then it can lead to constant bullying which will make the others even more miserable and will likely lead to not eating and disease and ultimately death.

It will likely work out for some time, but could all end in tears....

Also it looks like your Discus maybe stunted, the bottom pic shows a small dent in the forehead just above the eyes and the body more rugby ball shaped than round. Nothing you can do about that now though sadly.

PS Apologies for this post sounding so negative.... but I think it's important for people to know this kinda stuff..

hi guys just to clear up yes these fish did come from me and they are a little stunted due to the fact i had a batch of babies but then had a few probs at home and couldnt give them the full attention they deserved that the reason they was given away , at the moment jens tank isnt really big enough to house anymore than the 2 he has and as i do agree discus do much better in groups time will tell as they get larger if bullying will start,

as for the strain of these fish they came from a blue snakeskin x brilliant turq if i remember right so there is a wide range of strains these could turn into

iv now sorted things at home and am back onto my full routine with my discus , and i now have a pair of my own that are spawning on a regular basis and now they are in there own tank as they was spawning in my comunity tank but the fry kept getting eaten but now they are in there own tank with another batch of eggs but the dopy fish have spawned around the dial area of the heater :S but hopefully they will move them to a better place in the next few days, for anyone interested the pair are a red alenquer and a red turq that are spawning at the moment,

jagz
