New Discus Tank

hi guys just to clear up yes these fish did come from me and they are a little stunted due to the fact i had a batch of babies but then had a few probs at home and couldnt give them the full attention they deserved that the reason they was given away , at the moment jens tank isnt really big enough to house anymore than the 2 he has and as i do agree discus do much better in groups time will tell as they get larger if bullying will start,

as for the strain of these fish they came from a blue snakeskin x brilliant turq if i remember right so there is a wide range of strains these could turn into

iv now sorted things at home and am back onto my full routine with my discus , and i now have a pair of my own that are spawning on a regular basis and now they are in there own tank as they was spawning in my comunity tank but the fry kept getting eaten but now they are in there own tank with another batch of eggs but the dopy fish have spawned around the dial area of the heater :S but hopefully they will move them to a better place in the next few days, for anyone interested the pair are a red alenquer and a red turq that are spawning at the moment,

wondered when u would pipe up :p

lol

beechey i dont have any for sale at this moment but in the next few weeks i will have for sale

2 x 4.5"-5.5" blue diamonds

and 2 x 4.5" -5.5" red turqs

all four are really nice fish but i have in one tank 4 blue diamonds 3 red turqs and 1 red alenquer and then i have the pair aswell which i mention earlier but im keeping the biggest of the red turqs and blue diamonds as these are 5-6" , the reason im selling is i am about to buy a new 5ft tank next weekend and i dont want lots of the same strain in the same tank so i will purchase some 2.5" babies of a different strain and grow these on as this is what i done with my current fish , all my fish are stendker as i really like there quality and size ,

Discus shouldn't be kept in such a small group, groups of 4 or 5 minimum. How big is that tank? It looks big enough to fit more in to me, especially if they are small. I have a 29g grow out tank with 4 juvenile fish, and they are all completely fine, and that tanks look much bigger then 29g.

tank is 30 inches by 15 by 12 works out at around 80 ish litres i think lol so no not big enough 2 house any more really but as u say if small yes till they need 2 be moved 2 1 of my bigger tanks but as for them kept in bigger groups your probably rite and if mine get 2 the point of showing alot of aggression i will add a couple more but for the time been they are fine and very placid 2wards each other also have access 2 get some instantly so can add some straight away if worst comes 2 the worst :)

Wow those Discus must be TINY, because they make the tank look huge!

Oh, when I did it, it worked out to be about 23g ;)

Yeah I really recommend getting a bigger tank, asap.

they are about 5 months old so you aint to far out but i would want them to more on the 4" size for this age so only a little stunted as these are stendker fish and german fish tend to be alot larger than asian fish :good:

sorry beechy i would be interested in a swap as long as your fish are stendker as i dont keep asian discus and i wont be mixing them either, but ill let ppl know when i am ready to let them go
