Hi all,

I am a little worried. I had one peppered cory for a while and he was lonely so I just picked up 3 more today. I acclimated by leaving the bag for about ten minutes and then just plopped and dropped. They seem very still and don't want to explore much. Even the original is staying in his little corner and not doing anything. They came home about an hour ago. Are they ok? Is this normal for them? All my other fish immediately explore and this has me a little worried. Thanks

10 minutes is alittle short for time, I would have left the bag for 30-40 minutes, But they'll be scared and be adjusting to the new tank.

Give them a few days.

Turn the light off also if you didn't initially, they will feel threatened until they know the tank mates.

After 3 days the new corys are doing great! they are out exploring and rummaging through the substrate and eating like gluttons! they are still skittish when I approach the tank but im sure that will change!

Once they start to equate your approach with food, they will be far less skittish.  My cories are still a little skittish at times (and I've had them for over 2 years), but most of the time, if I don't move too quickly towards the tank, they are quite happy to do what they do while I approach.  I've even been able to get a close-up pic of my baby cories once or twice when they don't mind me getting right up to the glass.  The biggest thing for them is to have cover to hide in when they feel threatened.  If they have that, they are actually far less skittish, because they know there is a safe spot to go if they need to.

Congrats - they'll be even more active with 3-5 more.
