New Boy - Tankmates

Oooh my new boy arrives tomorrow

He’s going to be “relegated” to a 1.5 gallon tank until Friday or Saturday when the tank switcharoo is complete and after that he’ll have a 14 gallon to himself…any ideas of what I could put with him?

I do have a bunch of snails so I was thinking of basically halving them (not physically of course lol) and leaving half where they are and half in with him.

I do have dwarf shrimp in with my male at the moment and he is perfectly fine with them so I was “half” thinking of giving ‘new boy’ a day or two with the snails and see how he gets on with them and if he is ok then move some of the shrimp over too.

I’m definitely going to move some snails (If he is ok with them) but otherwise any ideas of what could go in with him?

He should do fine with snails and shrimp. He should also be fine with a school of small tetras like neons or glolights.

He has arrived. He's exploring his temporary tank. He is tiny, smaller than my girls. Definately smaller than my other male but he is big .

I had him floating in with my girls to acclimitise before as his temporary tank isn't really big enough to float a bag. Anyway he was giving it his all once he got settled in and showing the girls how big and pretty he was and were they interested...not in the slightest lol.
