After walking around my LFS last weekend, i refused to leave with something to plonk in my nano tank, i found this kicking around in one of the tanks

He goes quite well in here with my Ember Tetras and Orange shrimp. I actually like the fact that he is a solid orange colour and nothing else.

Hopefully this one wont snuff it, he seems happy, already built a huge bubble nest and forced half my floating plants to rise up out of the water!

PS, i still think Betta fish are bent as, but i like this guy :D

Absolutely gorgeous, which LFS was this? I'm in High Wycombe but have on occasion ventured out to the MA at Wheatley but never see bettas like this on sale except on the internet.

Ah, i work in Wooburn Green so i visit all the surrounding shops.

But i live in Bicester, up the M40 so Wheatley is the one i visit most. World of Water in Bicester is where this guy came from. They had quite a few "nice ones" scattered around their tanks weekend just gone.

He's so pretty!! Really compliments the colouring of the plants in your tank. I've never seen a betta quite so ... orange. Maybe he's originally from essex.

Ahh, I work in Bourne End so I count that MA as my local which is where I got my humble little red veil tail boy from. I did see a rather nice goldy coloured crown tail at Wheatley when I went up there a couple of months ago but had no spare tank space for him.

Bourne End have gone downhill on fish selection, pretty bland these days :< I used to dive in once a week, cant be bothered now.

I have to agree there, ever since the girl (I can't remember her name)who used to work there left earlier this year. Also their plant selection doesn't seem to be as good any more (not that it was ever that fantastic).

Kat, aye, shes over at Ladds Garden Center i think it is, on the A4 towards Reading, a bit further down the road is another Maidenhead Aquatics, near the Wyvale Garden center, thats probably one of the best around. Iver is good too.
