New Betta :)

I got my first betta yesterday. He ate a little Tetra Pro flake when he first arrived, I then went to the lfs and bought him some different stuff. I tried Tetra Betta Food first, which he kinda turned his nose up at, so I gave him a little dried bloodworm, he took a couple, but them spat them out. This morning I gave him some frozen brine shimp, he seemed interested in it, but chewed it a little then spat it back out.

I was beginning to think he was unhappy, but he has built a bubblenest overnight, so he can't be unhappy, can he? He is in a 2.5 uk gallon tank with sand substrate, some smooth rocks and a couple of soft plants which he seems to really love. he is active and comes to the front when I approach. I don't know what to try next, would he be ok on normal tetra pro flake if thats all he'll eat?

Aww thank you! I wasn't going to get a blue one, I fancied a red or purple one, but I fell in love with him so that was it

give him some time to settle in, sometimes they take a few days before they start eating anyway.

I got mine bettamin flakes by Tetra, mine won't eat pellets. However, as others have said, some bettas just get stubborn and won't eat for several days after you get them.

He's just adjusting...

Keep trying with the new foods.

The ones that he seems to sort of like, keep trying those.

But if he completely ignores it, dont do it anymore.

Just give him some time and keep experimenting.
