Hey everyone,

This little guy is on its way to me in the post

I hope he is doing ok :-( need to think of a name... Flame could be a good option

call him "Hot Shot"
because he certainly is B-)

Thanks, he is a BettaBoy thats for sure; I didnt want to pay so much for a Betta but they all seem so much better than the ones I can buy from my LFS.

Here is a picture of his new home awaiting his arrival

I have only just removed 5 Guppys who have been happily in there for the last few months, levels are all fine.
I have 1 question, this tank has this filter set up;

I have filled the water so that the water is running gently from the filter, (not splashing like the guppies seemed to love) will this be suitable for the betta?? there is a spot at the back of the tank where there is almost no flow so if he is feeling lazy he can take a rest round there.

I would lower the water level if possible. Bettas need to be able to stick their head above water and breathe from time to time.
Also, the ornaments you have in there will tear their fins. Opt for either live plants, or silk ones to protect his fins.

name him Ember

and where did you get the awesome looking tank? I would love to have one of those on my nightstand by my bed!

Betta just arrived in the post!!

I feel so sorry for him, the post man walked up the path spining the box in his hands!!! I told him it had a live fish in the box and he was like "O I didnt know that"

Bag is now floating in the tank and little Flame does not look very bright at the moment, he must be quite stressed out from his journey :-(

At least he wont ever have to go through anything like that ever again.

Bless him, its always stressful getting a fish delivered (also very stressful posting them )
Im sure he will perk up once he is settled and venturing around his new home.
Look forward to the pictures of him :D

I have 8 females and 1 male from bettaboys, they are top class fish :)

Really glad to hear he arrived,- but sorry that he got so shook up  I am a real fan of bettaboys. I don't have room for any of their gorgeous males, but I do have 10 of their gorgeous girls! :D

I'm sure Flame will settle down within the next few days,- try not to worry too much :)

He is in the tank now, I have removed the plastic plants because I dont want him causing any damage to his wonderfull fins  he looks happy now :)

Would you guys recommend silk plants? or anything else to go in the tank?

i hhave silk plants with my betta, had life plants before that, just avoid plastic plants. and flame looks beautiful

Beautiful fish! And I bet he is going to be happy in his home!Silk plants should be good. I use silk plants for mine. Lower maintenance.
