Ummm, my guppy keeps going in a hollow decoration. Every now and then when she comes out her gravid is a diff shape. Can they have a baby or two and then swim off and come back and have another one or two?

Yes. In fact, babies aren't exactly born at once. Many females will kind of just strew the babies all over the place.

the weird thing...

I can't find any babies... Could she already have eaten them :(

should I put 'er in the breeder for the rest of them????

She wouldn't be eating them yet. Before birthing, the mother Guppy's body releases a hormone to suppress her appetite for the duration of the birth.

It is possible other fish in the tank are eating them, though.

But I see you found one. Good deal. What kind of breeder do you have? I'd really recommend another tank, but a breeder net is okay. Breeder boxes are death traps as a general rule.

it is a net that has plants in them. It is not a breeder box. Its just a mesh net with a plastic box frame. I actually put the mother in the net and I rehomed the fry to a betta box with some tank water.

I have only found 2 and it looks like she's finished. Is it poss that she only had 2 and no more? I don't want to believe they were eaten :/ When I noticed mommy was getting smaller, she never got big like she was supposed to, so that's why I feel strongly its possible she only had 2.

I didn't find any half carcasses or anything of the sort... I looked for nearly an hour and two is all I found. Although, the gravel is brown and they were super hard to spot. I'm not ruling out the possibility that there is more in the main tank. I sure hope I got them all. I was supposed to do a survival of the fittest, but I can't bring myself to do it...

I'm such a softy!!!

I even dumped the filter's water into a bucket and I searched it for a few mins to make sure none were killed by it. None were found. I was told guppies are supposed to have atleast 6 per "session" I guess you'd call it, but i guess that's average?

As far as I can tell, they are both very healthy looking. Neither are deformed, and are both very active.

They have really come at a bad time b/c the tank they are in has an ammonia reading of 0.25ppm. Is this dangerous for them? I'm sure it is, but I had a tank that had a cycle crash and well, that's all I got. GRrr I'm so stressed right now...

Guppy fry are very strong fish.

In the Betta box, do a daily 50% or more water change, and they can remain in there until they are ready to go back in the main tank. Especially since there's just the two of them. You could even add a few more if you find them (and they probably are there...Guppy fry are GREAT at hiding) as long as you keep up on your water changes.

What are you planning on feeding them?

when I do a water change, should I use fresh dechlor water, or water from mom's tank? and 0.25 is not bad then???

EDIT: It is VERY appearant that mom's not done. I se more black spots in her gravid. Or is this eggs from the next "session"?

I doubt it will harm them, but they should not remain in that.

I use fresh dechlorinated water of approximately the same temperature for my water changes with my Guppy fry.

Do you have any airline tubing? Something thin that doesn't pull out a lot of water at a time? That's what I use.

yes absolutely!!!

EDIT:It is VERY appearant that mom's not done. I se more black spots in her gravid. Or is this eggs from the next "session"? And if they are more babes, can they remain there all night with mom, or will her hunger kick in again?
