I just saw an exellent vid on you tube of arowana breeding, the eggs are the size of marbles!

the red is beefing up nicely its amost as thick as the 18" silver in the other tank
the main part of his diet is mealworms gut loaded with carrots and colour enhancing flake

Have you ever hand fed him? If so have you ever had a nip?
In the lfs i work one of the women there said she got a nip of the silver there when she was feeding it prawns, it wasnt havin any of it the three times in 2 days i tried The Tiger shovel nose did tho B)

i can handfeed the big silver but its clumsy so i dont bothered much
it has bitten me a few times
the red is much more weary of me and wont come near,but he is small i will gain his trust soon enough

Does it hurt? One of the ladies at the lfs wasnt looking when she had a prawn in her hand, it mouthed it and she said it hurt more as she yanked her hand away from the tank in shock and smacked it on the 1' by 1' feeding flap! lol

i nearly smashed the cover glass with my elbow last time

better watch them close. from what i know, aros dont really like other newly introduced aros, especially at this size.
