Well I went to pick up my aro just now and he is in and settled looking good as you can see in the pics his tail is a bit damaged but it should heal quickly. It is exactly 12" i measured him.

Nice fish. How much was he? Where id you get him from?
Do you have anything else in with him.

Yeah he seems to be doing well although not eating I tried a couple of worms earlier and fed some prawns about 30mins ago but it is not touching anything how long do you recon it should take to settle and feed.

my aros have always eaten within a few days but it can take a few weeks sometimes
offer whatever it was feeding on at the lfs :good:

nah dont worry mate, they can be stubborn but it will come around when it gets hungry enough :good:
when i first got my red i just didnt offer anything for a few days then it accepted whatever i threw in

Got ya I kept my red shoulder severum in the end but not sure if it will work out think it may pick on the aro.

only offer the aro food that you want it to eat from now on
dont bother with treat food like earthworms etc coz you might find it will refuse everything else
i would only offer prawn for a while :good:
i doubt a severum is gonna bother that beast

Ok I feed prawn and mussel quiet often I bought some meal worms today is prawn not a good idea also those meal worms float???

mealworms float for a few seconds just enough for them to get gobbled up
prawns are a great food for big fish, cheap and readily available.all my fish get only prawn 4 or 5 days a week

i think that is a nice looking set up what filtration are you running?
the bichir and lima look tiny compared to the green
