2 shots of the whole tank. My water got cloudy about a week ago and I don't have a clue to what is causing it. My aquascaping didn't help it either, as I stitrred up a bunch of sand while moving stuff around. I am thinking the water is cloudy as my filter broke and is making a really loud grinding noise so I had to shut it off. I have one on there still, but not as much filtration. I am thinking it broke about a week ago when the water got cloudy. :dunno: It is only like 2 months old too. Hopefully they will refund my money. :grr:

Left side of the tank with the never-sinking driftwood. I just wedged it into my tank so I win. :p

Middle of the tank. I bought that grass bottom today at petsmart. My fish LOVE it. They wedge themselves in it and swim around in all kinds of little hiding spots. I am thinking I will pick up atleast 2 more and cover the front area. Then I will leave the back just sand as I want my bottom feeders to be able to find the food on the sand and munch it up easily.

Speaking of bottom feeders, here is Bumblebee Tuna, my Bumblebee catfish. :p He has quite a belly on him. My molly had TONS of fry and I only came home to 7 survivors and a VERY happy catfish with a huge belly. Then I put 15 ghost shrimp in the tank to clean the leftover food and they were all gone within 2-3 days. Once again, BBT had a VERY fat stomach.

(BTW those white speckles are bits of sand. He made his own tunnel under the rock in the corner and he roots around in the sand all the time, same with my loaches)

One of the two clown loaches that came with the 55 gallon my mom bought for $50.00 at a yardsale. They were kept in slightly brackish water. :/ But they are VERY healthy and quite the little pigs.

Look who made the new driftwood their home?

And as you can see, my female bettas LOVE the new grass. Instead of wedging themselves in one plastic plant, they wedge themselves into this grass. :D I looked into the grass and saw like 10 little tails sticking out. :p

Hope you like my pics!

Eek! The first pic of bumblebee tuna looks like he has a bunch of red on him. He doesn't have that IRL. I took it when the tank's lights were out and with the flash so maybe it just turned out weird. :dunno:

Looking good.. I sooooooo want a big tank like that *whines*

Gotta love bumblebee catfish... and what a handsome one you have, too ;)
I have one that I put in a 10 gallon that had ghost shrimp in it. I didn't think about that beforehand... I guess it's a good thing I wasn't very attached to those shrimp!

I LOVE YOUR GRASS !!! :kewlpics:

It is called fakeus plasticus boughtus it atus Petsmartus. It is fake. But shh don't tell anyone that. :p ;) I think it looks just as good as the real stuff, and the fish have a great time swimming in all of the little hiding spaces. I got it at Petsmart. I think it is for reptiles and fish, it says you can use it as grass or just a floating bed of grass, but I think it looks better on the bottom of the tank.

And yes, I LOVE my bumblebee catfish. Whenever I mention I have a bumblebee catfish, most people think I am talking about a bumblebee goby and how I need brackish water or whatever, but he REALLY is a catfish. :p They only had them once at my LFS when I worked there and I had to grab one. I don't see them that often now. Wish I could get a few more.

it's looking good although a bit empty at the moment!!

i think your grindy filter was sand getting in the impeller, did you try cleaning it out?

It already has enough fish in it. :p Yea I cleaned it out, but it still is making that weird noise. It is even worse than ever. I have the same type of filter on the other side of the tank and it is just fine. :dunno:

I never even knew Bumblebee catfish existed until your post, but now I want one! (Or ten...)

He looks like he's smiling!
They're really cute. They never come out in the daytime so you never really see them, but it is quite fun to look around the tank and try to see where he is hiding. :p

Your tank looks great!

I have seen the grass and almost purchased some! The petsmart in my city has about 2-3 different kinds, but my favorite was the one you have. Only prob is that with the way I have my tank aquascaped (with caves and such) I can't fit the entire square in one spot. Do you suppose that it woudld be easy to cut and place 2 large rectangles or squares in my tank?

Yea there were like 3 differet types. Like a flower type that was green and yellow-ish and then the one I have and a different grassy one I think. I think mine looks the most natural out of all of them. How big is your tank? I think it said "easy to cut to fit your tank" on the back of the package so I assume it would be easy to cut. The base is a really flimsy plastic.

It's a 55 gallon, but I have a few "territories" of caves for my apistos to breed, and I'd like to use the grass as a bit of a cover for the fry as they forage for food. I guess I was thinking of more like a row of grass instead of a block of grass.
