New Aquarist with Platys

Hiya,

I just found this website today and I'm soooo impressed.

I introduced my first fish to my tropical aquarium about 2 months ago and so far everything seems to be OK (I've not lost any fish yet- touch wood!!!)

I have eight female platys:
* 2 red/bright orange and black (Called Bob and Dunk)
* 2 peach with what looks like a Mickey Mouse logo on their tails! (Called them Walt and Disney!!)
* 2 yellow (Frankie and Primrose)
* 2 blue/green (Stripe and Marlon)

Have had one suffering from white spot which luckily I caught in time and has not spread to the others (touching wood again!) but other than that I seem to be alright.

Found a great book called Fishlopedia which really helped me to set up and introduce my first fish.

I really like your picture Sorrell.

I've been reading up on different techniques to try and take a decent pic of my fish. Not been successful yet though!

We also have platies....orange and blue/silver mickey mouse....already have 22 fry which we think are platies about 2 months of age!!

No reason why we have all females, just the way it turned out. Haven't really thought about breeding to be honest.

Having a bit of a problem with one at the moment as Dunk seems to be removing Frankies scales! Can't find any reason for it so I'm just going to separate them until Franies fully recovers from her Whitespot (poo thing, first he's ill then she gets picked on!)
