Right, so it goes.......

Had a tank it was small 26 gallons and that was all,

Needed bigger or so I thought saw it on ebay and so I bought,

Got it home and i was in trouble, "I thought is was smaller its nearly double!",

With me being told I filled anyway if only I knew what trouble ahead lay,

Downstairs complaining and the missis, I thought at one time I might have to bin it!

But they all came around with the tanks new location, however installing a bulkhead caused a commotion,

Now running half mast the tanks not to well, but whats in-store I will shortly tell.

Back soon!

215L main tank
90L sump
30L fuge
20L tank Seahorse tank
30L w/c tank

and

120L don't know but its curing the rock ATM tank.

bleh i must memorize liters to us gallons....are these all going to be connected? 20l will only be large enough for dwarf horses you get around 10-20 and theyd need bbs 2x a day, and u wont be able to use liverokc because of hydroids

I have now kept SH for about a year I know what I'm doing but thanks for you concern. To answer you question yes all the tanks will be connected.

dwarfs are different then regular horses, if it was plumbed into the main tank you introduce hydrois into their tank and they would die

hehe dare to question the great matthew5664 :D im definately gonna be keepingan eye on this one. loved oyur tank before, shame it sorta went a bit tits up though, but im sure there will be light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck anyway

lol is it going to be a 20gallon long tank or a 20 liter?

As far as I have got so far.

Got the new RO unit pumbed in with tap at front of cubord for ease of use (still waiting on TDS meter from e-bay)

0608.07069.jpg

with the kickboard on I was 'makin the RO'
0608.07047.jpg

With that done the Salting began.
0608.07043.jpg

And the first lot on new LR went into soak. My SH was in this tank but has moved into the fuge of my reef for the time being.

Nice work, all tucked away in there :). Much nicer looking than mine strapped to the basement wall :shifty:

With the little one crawling all over the house everything has to be away plus the missis doesn't like all the 'fish paraphernalia' lying about. Got the TDS meter this morning so that will go in. I'm toying with the idea of cutting a section out of the kickboard and setting the TDS meter and the pressure gauge behind a piece of clear acrylic? Find out how the missis feels with a hole in the kickboard.

Ohh coming along m8, cant w8 to see the finished product. :hyper:

Right some more progress for you's.....

Got the pH meter at last all calibrated but I tested just for piece of mind. at well the result speaks for its self....
0708.07003.jpg

AAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!! no no no wait i put it in the Ca reactor didn't I now thats a bit high I would say 6.4 is the mean from trolling the forums. so up went the CO2 input and down went the flow rate.

Next was the TDS meter. Your tanks stand no chance without good RO. so that went in (Sorry Ski no holes and night lights here) and well I was very surprised. I had hoped for below 15ppm.
0708.07012.jpg

With that the filling and salting went on and on and on and on (man these things are slow) and on and on and on and on and finely I had a full LR curing tank..
0708.07009.jpg

With the TDS very nice indeed I decided tonight I will do a 30% water change on the main tank so with a 70l bio-hazard bin from work I went about the filling again.

0708.07015.jpg

Still going on now. Leaving it over night should be full by morn. Have the day off tomorrow so allot more progress will be had...

Tune in soon for another exciting adventure with Matthew5664!

PS got some new MH bulbs BVL 14K's and I won't be posting anything tomorrow because I won't be able to see.......

Till next time............................................................................
..............................................

Don't worry be fishy

Had the day off today but the missis had a list as long as my arm so not much done on the tank front. Got some more dried LR (DLR) from a guy in my club so that went into the LR tank. Also went to a LFS to get some LR to seed it all got back and as I turned over one of the older pieces of DLR to my surprise it had signs of coralline on it and some small sponge.

0808.07024.jpg

All the new rock in after a RO rinse.

0808.07030.jpg

Some of the crap that comes out when you use this method.

0808.07032.jpg

Coraline on some of the DLR or LR as its becoming.

After mean mean hours on the net going to LFS and not so L FS I had given up the search for a rubber-maid style (US counterparts know) sump I went to the Plastics company round the corner from me to get the bits cut for the 100l sump tank the guy wasn't there!. So later today in a not so L FS I find a Koi tub the right size! its 600mm x 470mm x 300mm(LxWxH) witch is exactly what I was after.

And It's been a while since I posted a full tank shot. Now bare in mine its limping along.

Now thinking about the set-up and going to change a couple of things. the LR tank ATM is going to be a softy tank with Zoas, Mushrooms and leathers with a few small fish. the large reef is going to be SPS and LPS (70:30) the seahorse tank is going to be my old old seahorse 24"x12"x15". then a 30l refugeum and 30l water change tank. Got most of the plumbing bits now. Just waiting on the pumps to supply the SH and WC tanks and then I have to try and get my Christmas present Early to run the hole thing. I'm getting one of the GHL aquarium computers. Now I belive she got it already its just a case of finding is, by accident, and asking if I can have it early.

The tanks a foot dear Watson
