Just wanted to share a good experience I had with some new shrimp I received in the post this morning...

(Are we allowed to mention suppliers???)

I got 6 Amanos from easishrimp.co.uk - ordered yesterday, arrived this morning at 8:30 - excellent service! The chap even asked me when I wanted them - I've never had that before!

Sure enough they were all alive and kicking and the nice man (AJ) even threw in a couple of Almond leaves and shrimp food!

Hmmm...is this turning into a review and is it in the wrong place, moderators? If so, please move me and I'll edit it to fit better in the review section.

Anyway, they are in with 2 dwarf gourami and some corys with no trouble at all... My only question is; how many is too many for Amano Shrimp in a 63L, lightly planted tank?

Shrimp don't add noticeably to the bioload. I had 3 in my old 64l tank,

3 isn't very many at all is it?

I was thinking more like 12 - 18; would that be alot?

It won't let me start a new topic in the review section...you've banned me haven't you? It's because I keep beating you at the name that fishy competition isn't it?

LOL, no, I assume it's because you've not reached 60 posts.

You could have 12 there, I would say, but I think it would be a case of not seeing the fish for all the shrimps. They do grow quite big, you've probably got juveniles at the moment.

Yeah, they are quite small at the moment. They're also very timid right now as well!

I'll rack up 4 more posts and try again!

I just checked, and that's right, it is at 60 posts that you get to start threads in that section. We don't want people just registering to post a negative review as revenge for some perceived injustice, and never posting again.

Only 3 to go now, of course.

That's a very sensible thing to do...

2...

They COULD grow into what you see in my signature pic. She is a 3 year old female, who takes NO prisoners in any shrimp considerably smaller than herself.
Ensure there are plenty of hiding places for these shrimp, the calmer they are now the more natural they could become in the near future.

Terry.
