New 6x2x2 tank. Got lights in hood now.

Hey everyone,

Yes i have found time to intall lights into the hood for my new tank.

I used 6 glow glowmat 2 which are double 3 foot fluro fixtures with external ballasts.

12 x 3 foot tubes. mixture of life-glo2 and power-glo

working out light placement

Finished installing lights on right side. Left is a mirror image.

The lights i am running a 3 pairs on 3 differnet timers.
This way they slowly turn on and turn off.

nice, for my 6x2x2 im doing a 6x4ft lights. I got them from a electricial harware shope, for cheap as cheaps Very nice tank mate

The difference in the globe's is the color. power glo is 18000k and life glo 2 is 6200k.

where did ya get the glomat thigns and how much each were they?

I was thinking of getting the glomat units too, do they come with the bulb clips?

Yeah they come with bulb clips and the external ballasts.

Ive got a RDO this upcoming Tuesday and im re-doing the lighting. I screwed up and didnt put a reflector on the hood so there really isnt as much light going into the tank as there should be. Ill be removing the lights (what a pain in the a..) and using a mirror as my reflector. Ithink it should work well. Also be setting up my Co2 kit on tuesday as well.

how is it coming along mate? is it a DIY CO2 or a proper system? how how many watts per gallon do you have, im guessing 2 wpg?
