So im thinking of what stock to put in my 6 foot which i will be getting in about 3 months. Wanting to start thinking about this early because i change my mind constantly. The measurements will be about 183 x 46 x 46. Should i upgrade the height by a couple of inches?

I currently have:
discus
10 Rummy-nose tetras
2 pairs of kribensis

Start of my planning:
8 Discus
2 apistogramma cacatuoides
2 laetacara curviceps
10 rummy-nose tetras
5 gardneri killifish
5 lyretail killifish

Anything i should change? What else can i add?

discus love tall spaces, if you can afford to stretch the height then by all means, why not?

your be able to get a lots of neons in there geee ,   id make it taller a
id get even more ,    actually how many could you have , work that out lol.

Sorry seriously i would take the one chance and go for it ,  48 sounds good

also adding to the stocklist 5-10 spotted blue eyes. Any opinions and advice wanted.

EDIT: also about 10 or so coral red pencilfish

My mind has changed, not going for the coral red pencilfish as they would be too small.

killi fish would probably not turnn out to well becuase discus are really big fish

what do you mean?? they wouldnt eat them if thats what you mean. Still wanting any advice to what fish i should add to the aquarium.

A group of hatchet fish would be a good addition for the top level of your tank. I personally like the marbled hatchet fish. Also some corydoras that like the warmer water the discus need would be a good addition. Corydorad adolphi or sterbai are a good choice.

Beware of mixing killifish in a community, i recently lost half of my Beckford Pencilfish group, the top suspects are my 7 Fundulopanchax nigerianus "Innedere." Months ago the killis did some pretty major fin nipping, the pencils spent the summer in a 620T quarantine tank (along with my halfbeak youngster), I did not expect to find two corpses and a third one missing when I reintroduced them just before a weeks holiday.

Mixing cichlids from different continents can cause issues, their differing body language/posturing can be misinterpreted, I'd move the African Kribensis out of there and stick to the South American Discus/Apistogramma/Laetacara.

What about increasing the rummy nose? I bet they would look amazing in a big shoal!

thats why in my future stock i didn't include them in my listings, meaning that i will be getting rid of them.

i think i might double the group and have 20.

Thinking the killifish will be too much work to try and find and probably wont work out that well, What else would i be able to put in with the others.

so far the new stocking is:
8 discus
20 rummynose
2 apistogramma cacatuoides
4 laetacara curviceps

and possibly
10 cory doras??

Read from here if you haven't read this thread yet, saves time

My new stocking ideas for the 106 gallon aquarium is
8 discus
20 rummynose
4 laetacara curviceps
2 festivums
5 congo tetras
4 german blue rams
3 whiptail catfish

Would this be considered fully stocked?? do i have any room left?
