I'm just in the processs of getting a new tank. Dimentions are as follows..
60"long x 24"high x 18"wide. Anyone got a rough idea of the water volume for this tank? Uk gallons Us Gallons or litres..any would do I can convert it after. B)
Also what size heater would be best for a tank this size and watts of light too?
I have only ever had small tanks so this is a bit of an adventure for me. Any info would be gratefully received.

Thanx

*drools* I make that 112 US gallons, or 432 litres...sounds bigger than i thought though, anyone else want to offer an opinion?

I dont know about heating, I usually jsut look on the heater box and see what size tank it is rated for. however it would be good to get two smaller heaters rather than one larger one, to pretect your tank in case one fails.

as for lighting - are you wanting to grow plants?

Plants..yes.. I just spent £40 on new ones so keping them alive would be good  I understand about 2w per gallon is good for growing plants? or maybe I'm wrong on that. Thats another reason I need to know the capacity of this beast..lol

Thats great :D ..thanx... all the info in one table...
I bought all low to medium light plants so that should be OK. Also the aquarium will stand in front of a window that never gets the direct sun due to position but still gets lots of light, so that will help. And the tank is without a backing I intend to keep it that way too ;)
All I need to do now is take the window out to get it in

Thanks for the help
