hi, ia m getting a well new to me (used) 10 us gallon/ about 38 liter tank. originally i was going to get a honey gouramis and that was about it, but now since i went into petland yesterday i still want honey gouramis but i think i'd like to try to have a pair of kribs. they were out of stock but, selling them as babies so i thought maybe they'd be more comfortable with the other fish in the tank since they grew up with them. so i think my stock would be 2 small honey gouramis, a pair of kribs, and a nice shoal of tetras of some sort( most likely cardinals or neons.) anyway my question is i'd also like to have one or two SMALL bottom feeders that don't eat plants as it will be a planted tank....(not corys not anything against them just don't super duper love them.)any recommendations?

I'm afraid Kribensis won't be very happy in a 10g tank. You could probably do this as a stocking though:
3x Honey Gouramis (1 Male, 2 Female)
6x Tetra (Smaller species, such as neons, glowlight or X-ray tetra, If I were you I'd go with neons)
4-8x Amano Shrimp as bottom feeders
OR as bottom feeders you could go with 6x Corydoras Habrosus (That would be pushing it though)
Obviously that's after fishless cycling your tank. If you did go with this stocking you would need to make sure you had a good filter and did frequent water changes (Roughly 30-50 percent every week) as it is quite a lot of fish for a 10 gal, especially if you go with the Cories (they produce a lot more waste than shrimp).

Im afraid your tank is a tad small for Krib's as they can be territorial.
Although they can be a good first Cichlid for fishkeepers, they do require hiding places and well planned out territories. They can also become slightly aggresive in my experiance, unfortunately one killed my junior pleco. Possibly because they were spawning.
I do recommend a pair of Honey Gourami's. They are really nice, and are pretty easy to keep. I've got a pair in a 60 Litre and have never had any trouble whatsoever.
As for Tetra's, you have plenty choice. Just try to steer away from the more sensitive one's like your Neon's and Rummy Nose. They require a mature tank with good water conditions.
As a bottom feeder you could get a small group of Oto's.

okay so whats the minimum tank size for kribs? this is kinda unrelated but just curious for future reference. would rams possibly be okay in there then? sorry i no these questions are kinda nooby but i'm still young (teens still

I reckon about a 25 Gallon, but you could have plenty more fish in there too. It's just about making clear territories, for example in my 200 Litre, I have a cocunut shell, Planted bogwood, A planted area, and a natural cobble area. You can imagine how these are like different homes on one street. It's good to give them potential breeding sites too, like slate.

You could have a couple or even two couples of Ram's. Either Blue German or Bolivian, can be tricky to look after. You might want to get the tank well up and running for a few months before you add these, as they are quite hard to look after, they also require frozen or live foods based on my experiance.

okay ya i was going to let it run for a couple months while cycling is, i'd probably add the gouramis then the rams and build from there so thanks for all the info 
and back to the main question.... what kind of bottom feeders could i get, i'd prefer not cories or plecos, not that i have anything against them just don't want any in my 10 gallon.

Pleco's grow big anyway, and because there are so many in shops (often being sold as L numbers) it's really hard to know what your buying (unless you know all the L numbers!). You could even end up coming home with like a Sailfin Pleco, and one of those baby's can potentially hit 80 cm! And lot's of Pleco's are nocturnal, I spent 18 Quid on my 2 inch long Snowball Pleco, And I never see him! 
Cories would be nice, but if you don't like them that's fine. They'd need to be in a small group anyway, taking up space in your tank.
A loach would be possible, although im not sure of any that would suit your tank. Clown's and Burmese Border's will outgrow your tank, they also need to be in groups.
Like I previously said, you could opt for Otocinclus (oto's)? Of all the different Oto's none will grow bigger than 7cm. You should keep them in groups of 3+. They are an excellent algae eater and will graze the sides of your tank. I know you said you want to steer away from Pleco's. But you should seriously consider the Oto. (look them up)
