Just wondered if anyone else is as panicky as me with a new tank ? My tank has been cycled fully for over 5 weeks and had fish in for a week Ive checked water daily (Ammonia/Nitrite both 0) and I've just completed my first water change with fish in.

I cant stop checking there ok  In the middle of the night, if I wake up I go check them to see there ok I  f im next door watching the football I pop back over at half time to check em  even if im upstairs on the pc i still go down now and then to check them

Relax FW, you did a good job cycling and now its done! Your bacterial colonies will likely be very hardy, just like your fish and remember, there are millions more of them (the bacterial cells) than your fish  so you can lose a few and they'll make a quick comeback! Start easing downward on the testing frequency in the coming 2 weeks.

~~waterdrop~~ :)

Water stats are still perfect 0 Im only checking every 48 hours now I think I'll drop that to maybe twice weekly soon. Should pick up my BN plec next week and I've just started shortlisting tanks for tank no 2  Which we will order tail end of next week I think.

I did find a tank on ebay in my town but its only a 95l (Was really thinking of nearer 120L/150L) he's giving away the fish in it too which led to the natural question of Oh what kind of fish do you have in it ?

He has and I kid you not

4 X Neon Tetra
1 X 'eel' he says its about 1" long but he dosn't know what it is
1 X Molly
20 X Baby Guppies

My inner fishkeeper is weeping atm over this terrible stocking. Id save them but fully grown that tank is going to be seriously overstocked.

**Ninja Update**

We've picked a new tank Its the Fluval Osaka 155

Does that mean its a 155L?

Occasionaly I allow myself to reflect about what a tiny percentage of all tank-keepers we forum-participating-hobbyists probably are (do you suppose we reach as high as 5% of all the people with fish tanks?) and as such there must be skads of tanks with a stocking plan that could be labeled "non-stocking"

155 litres yep its a taller narrower tank (I know I know surface area) But the better half vetoed my plans to throw out a wall unit and buy a 260 litre bow front  So i think this is better than a 95 litre which is about all I could fit in the space shes giving me lol

Mind you main tank is 240L so I can't moan that hard

Im loving the corydoras I got clearly noone has told them there bottom dwellers they zoom everywhere  atm theres 13 of them but 4 will be going over to the new tank when its cycled (Will clone my filter so it should be a lot quicker this time)

4 3 line cory
4 False Juli Cory
4 Albino Cory
and an stowaway Sterbai which im trying to decide to keep or give back to LFS as they dont actually sell them he must have snuck in a delivery.

Final (I.e there not all in atm :good: ) Currently is (Hatchets may well be swapped for Wrestling Halfbeaks)

Once the filter is really mature say 6/7 months + ill consider If i want to slightly overstock assuming theres something awesome that wont harras the betta

 I had a rasborra die at some point today  The other 24 are fine schoaling about as they do.

Water stats are perfect 0 ammonia and 0 nitrite and nitrates are nice and low. The fish have been fed a selection of foods so I guess its just one of these things sad tho.
