checked my tank as I always do before leaving for work, just to make sure all the fish are alive and swimming, noticed one of my neons was going white, only a faint blue stripe and no other colours

1. Water parameters. (ammonia - 0, nitrate - 0, nitrite - 0, PH - 7 (ish), temp 25 degress,
2. A full description of the fishes symptoms - loss of colour, faint blue stripe nothing else
3. How often you do water changes and how much - every couple of days as in a fish in cycle
4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water. - de-clorinator when doing water changes, filter fluid medium added Monday when I did a 50% change
5. What tank mates are in the tank - see my signature
6. Tank size - 3foot 180 litre
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish - no new additions

should I get it out the tank ? will it spread to all fish or just neons ?

I had this with my neons last year and they eventually died, I dont know the name of the disease but it only affects neons sort of a white spot but for neons. I was told by my local aquatic centre there was nothing I could do. My neons lasted a couple of months after I first noticed it - in their last few days I noticed they were more 'twitching' than swimming.

Oh I forgot to say - mine didn't spread to the other fish.

Right ok, I cant get home from work till about 5 tonight so will be checking the tank straight away, if its just one I might pull it out the tank to try and save the others

My cardinals always look like this if I suddenly turn the lights on after they've been in the dark for a while.

^^^ This. It happens to my Cardinal Tetra and i would expect (looking at your current fish-in cycle situation) the same to be happening to your Neon's. Hopefully you will be home from work in time to see them back to normal and wide-awake :good: !!

Terry.

got home and all the colours were fine, so basically its just because id woke the fish up and they were still sluggish and asleep - I know the feeling every weekday morning lol

thanks everyone was just concerned there was something wrong

I have some red serpaes and they turn very light pink at night, almost white. After they've been up for a while, they are dark red. Amazing how much they can change their color, and so quickly.
