Hi , at the moment i have 6 neolamprologus multifasciatus , was browsing in garden centre / fish shop and in a tank of huge Malawis was 1 Neolamprologus brichardi and 1 Neolamprologus leleupi , now as i understand the lelupi are boisterous and the brichardi are peaceful if slightly territorial ? would the brichardi eat the multis ?

Hi, from personal experience I would be wary about keeping the brichardi with your shellies. Obviously it depends on the size of your tank / rock arrangments etc but I had to rehome my pair or brichardis after they savaged one of lamprologus occelatus who sadly died of his injuries a few days later. I am not saying this is a common occurance and I am sure a single fish would be far less agressive than a breeding pair but I would imagine that it would still be quite territorial. However if you intend just to keep a single specimin with your multies and there are plenty of hiding places then maybe it is worth a shot as they are a pretty fish with bags of character! Were you considering getting the leloupi as well?

While I've not kept Lake Tangs, I did quite a bit of research before setting up my first cichlid tank, the one thing I do know is that leilupi shouldn't be kept with shellies, they've been known to pull them out of their shells sometimes killing the shellies in the process.

Hi , I resisted the temptation , I think the Brichardi might have been to big for the multis and I was scared of bullying , although the Lelupi is a very colourful fish I had heard they are too active for some tankmates and also aggresive so no to that one either , if I was going to to get just one last fisf I would like PARACYPRICHROMIS NIGRIPINNIS , anyone had any experience with these guys ? :good:
