ive been having problems with ammonia recently, bt it all seemed to dispperce after i did a 75% water change and gave the sbstrate a really good clean, bt now all my fish have got something wrong with them, one of my cloan loaches is at deaths door, it looks like it is covered in powder and is fitting abot the place frantically, the other 2 have the "powder" coating bt arent fitting yet. most of my fish have clody eyes and white stuff on there fins. what is going on. the clown loach just died as i wrote this :(

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
The white powder on the fish sounds like velvet.
Any sign of flicking and rubbing against objects.
Cloudy eye is a symtom of a desease not a desease in its own right.
Causes.
Bad water quality.
Poor diet.
Irratation.
Old age.
Stress.
Bacterial.
Parasite.

ammonia between .25 and .50 ppm
if it is velvet i can see why they call it that. the sandy substrate is sticking to them as they hit the grond aswel

Immediate water change and increase aeration in the tank.
How long has the tank been set up.
Your tanks overstocked with the clown loaches, how big are they.
Velvet looks like the fish have been dusted in talc.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing.
Any excess mucas on the fish.

been set up for jst over a year, id never had a problem with any of it before, the loaches were rubbing but not alot, i have an air stone in the tank already, there is white gnk coming out of the tetras mouth i gess that would be comsidered mucas

You have ammonia reading which is saying your tanks not cycled.
Sounds like to me your filter not coping with the fish you have in the tank.
Clown loaches need 90 gallon tanks.
I would do an immediate water change.
If you think it is velvet you need to add a parasite med.

ive been strggling with the ammonia recently, its was 8.0ppm less than a week ago and no matter how many water changes i do its still there in some capacity. what do you mean by uncycled?

Means that your filter not coping with all the fish in the tank, and waste.
I would just do a water change for now and see how they go.

Bless them R.I.P.
Have you done a water change as fish can die of ammonia poisoning.

have you tested the tap water to see why suddenly the ammonia has hit the roof. It could be a tap water issue rather than a tank issue.
