omg ...80 cardinals would be awesome!!! It would be possible for a schoal that size, they may split into two, but that would just make it cooler!

NTD is neon tetra disease. Cardinals are probably a better choice because neons are mass-produced commercialy and foolishly in-bred in huge numbers. The result is fish with weakened immune systems that get sick and die very easily. NTD is also a serious problem of course. Wild-caught neons are hardier but only if kept in ideal water conditions. It is generaly safer to go with cardinals and I personaly preffer their color. However, I still think harlequin rasboras are just as beautiful and shoal better... plus they are much, much hardier.

None of those fish match up to a black phantom tetra's character though
