Hello!

Well recently my family got a 100 gallon tank, and right now, it looks pretty empty. We have 4 full grown mollies, 2 fry, a plecostamus, and 2 dojo loaches. we're thinking of getting more fish this weekend.

any suggestions of what to get?

thanks!

well, add like 7 more dojo loaches, they will like the big group.

what kinds of fish are you into though?

i would like to get a siamese fighting fish, but i have had a bad experience before........we had a blue one and we bought a red one (put it in the 100 gall tank with the blue one) then went to bed

and in the morning there was no more blue fish

i like angels too, i dont know, really brightly coloured ones because what we have now is pretty non-descript

well get a small tank like 5 gallons for the betta, simaise fighting fish.

You could get angels, say 4, so that you can get some more large fish for that area. Maybe a gold severum, that may eat the mollies though, and I am not really sure if you want a Cichlid tank. But New World cichlids are fun, and some of them are peaceful for a cichlid.

so say
4 angels
1 severum
4 mollies
7 dojo loaches
1 pleco
12 hatchet fish, some of the smaller ones.

Sorry if I am not of that much help.

i looked up the severum on the internet, it looks pretty cool!

thanks for the advice........when we get new ones i will try to post pics

just out of curiosity, how many fish do you think i can fit in a 100 gallon tank?

Or if u REALLY want some fun.....try red bellies mwahahaha.
as in pacu or piranaha?

Do NOT get those, they will destroy your fish.

I depends on the type of fish you want in the 100 gallon.

If you go with the angels and sevs I would say no more than maybe 6 of the large cichlids total, but you should be able to get in some other types of fish, like bottem dwellers and others like that.

I know 2-3 sevs in a 55, and 4 angels in a 55,

Depends on the size, any special requirments, and the temperment of the fish. I could say you could fit 50 fish in there, but that could be either 50 tetras, or 50 oscars...and 50 oscars would be a BIG problem.

No i ment, just pirahnas. a 100 gal red belly tank would be fun! dangerous tho. he he

I think he was being sarcastic ;)

Oh, and BTW, jenica86, the reasen that your blue betta "disappeared" is because they are called Siamese FIGHTING fish for a reasen. Two males can not be placed in the tank together, they will fight. However, most females can get along peacefully, but you need atleast 3 of them, the more the betta (Edit: Oops...I mean better! LoL) because then it will even out the agression.

oh, well thats good, i thought you ment with the other fish.

my brothers science teacher had a 180 gallon piranah tank, just two of them. My brother said he feed them live rats, because they wouldnt eat anything else. But all their hair and all got all through the tank, and he had to get rid of them.

and i wasnt being sarcastic, they would destroy the fish that she has in her tank now.

I just love love LOVE my Bolivian Rams. You could get a few with a tank that size.

Although I'm not sure if they go well with mollies.

 AAHHHHH NEVER but NEVER put two fighting fish together I have kept them and that is the rule they WILL fight to the death :( :( :( :( :( :( Don't even think about it (sorry I just feel VERY strongly about this. When I go to a fish shop and see males together I go up to the person who is selling them and tell themUnfortunaltly I am not even a teen so this raly has any effect  )

yes well i have definetly learned my lesson with that! can i put a siamese fighting fish in a tank with two goldfish? i think its about 10 gallons......maybe if its a female it wont be so aggressive
