hey all, can anyone identify this odd white stuff in my pic, i have had no probs with tank or fish except the occational apperance of this stuff

clicky for piccy

thanks in advance for any help

the white balls almost look like unfertilized eggs in there....and the growth may be just a fungus on the eggs? how long did that take to form? what fish do you have in there? are there any snails?

i've never really seen fungus'd eggs but i dont image they look quite that bad unless left for an extreme amount of time - i always imagined almost a feathery type dusting over the eggs initially

it appears real quick this one appeared overnight, yes i do have some small snails in the tank, i have some phantoms, guppies, neons, some weird seethrough ones with an orange tail (honestly cant remember what they r called), pleco and a catfish

What is the catfish, is it a cory?
Those do look like eggs under all that fuzz there, and my corys always lay their eggs on the tank glass.
I suppose if you do have a cory and it was a female and needed to get rid of her eggs she may have laid them; being unfertilized they were already dead in sense and it doesn't take long for fungus to take over fish eggs.
Either way i would remove the fuzz/eggs/white stuff as it won't be doing anything good in your tank and could cause some water quality issues if you don't remove it.

the catfish is not a corry but cant remember wot type it is

Either way though i would remove the white fuzz as they do appear to be rotton fish eggs of some sort and won't do your tanks ecosystem any good.
